About Sort It Home Organising
Meet Harjit - Your Professional Home Organiser in Leicester
Hi, I’m Harjit, founder of Sort It Home Organising.
I believe your home should work for you - not leave you feeling overwhelmed by clutter, searching for things or constantly trying to get back on top of everything.
My approach to organising is practical, supportive and completely judgement-free. I don’t believe in forcing people to become minimalist or making them get rid of things that are important to them.
Instead, I work alongside you to create simple, realistic systems that suit your home, your belongings and your everyday life.
Whether you need help with one room, a whole home declutter or support through a major life change, my goal is to help you create a home that feels calmer, more functional and easier to manage.
My Story
I started my working life at 16, when I began working in a library.
Over the years, I developed a real appreciation for organisation, structure and creating spaces where people can easily find what they need. I’ve always enjoyed bringing order to busy environments and finding practical ways to make things work better.
As life changed and my own experiences grew, I realised that these skills could be used to help people in their homes too.
That’s how Sort It Home Organising began.
I created Sort It because I wanted to offer something more than simply tidying or decluttering. I wanted to provide practical support to people who feel overwhelmed by their surroundings and don’t know where to start.
Every home and every person is different. Some people need help with a single room, while others may be facing a house move, downsizing or the difficult task of sorting belongings after a bereavement.
Whatever the reason, my approach is the same: listen first, work at your pace and never judge.
My role isn’t to tell you how your home should look. It’s to work alongside you and help create a space that works better for you and your everyday life.

The Sort It Approach
I understand that asking for help with your home isn’t always easy.
You may feel overwhelmed by clutter, unsure where to start or embarrassed about how your space has become. There is absolutely no judgement at Sort It Home Organising.
My approach is simple: I listen, I understand what isn’t working and then we work together to find practical solutions.
No Judgement
Your home doesn’t need to be perfect before I arrive. I’m here to help, not to criticise or make you feel uncomfortable.
You stay in control
I’ll offer guidance and practical support, but the decisions about your belongings are always yours. I’ll never pressure you to throw something away.
Practical solutions
I’m not interested in creating systems that look good for a photograph but don’t work in real life. I’ll create organising solutions that fit your routines, your space and the way you actually live.
Your pace
Some projects can be completed quickly, while others need more time and care. We’ll work at a pace that feels manageable for you.
A calmer home
The goal isn’t perfection. It’s to create a home that feels calmer, more functional and easier for you to manage every day.
A Little About Me
When I’m not helping people organise their homes, I enjoy keeping active, spending time with my family and making the most of life outside work.
I’m a big Leicester City Football Club fan, enjoy going to the gym and, like many people, I’m always happy to find a good coffee shop.
I believe that our homes should support the lives we live, not become another source of stress.
That’s one of the reasons I love what I do. There’s something really rewarding about seeing the difference a more organised space can make to someone’s everyday life, whether that’s making a busy morning easier, creating a calmer bedroom or helping someone finally tackle an area they’ve been avoiding.
For me organising isn’t about perfection. It’s about making life a little easier.
